Warriors on the verge of another finals

Warriors On The Verge Of Another Finals Appearance

The Golden State Warriors and the NBA Finals – those two words over the last half-dozen years have gone together as good as if not better than bud light and a fraternity brother.

When at full strength, the Warriors seem near impossible to beat. With the returning piece of Klay Thompson, this team is right back to where they once were not long ago. Cruising through rounds of the playoffs and finding themselves back competing for a Title. The Warriors are currently sitting one win away from heading to their 6th NBA Finals in the last eight seasons, having won a sixth WCF since 2015… The dynasty rolls on.

Although this year was a career drop-off stat-wise for Steph Curry, he has shown up when games mattered most. He’s made the jump from averaging 25.5 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists a game on 38% shooting from the three-point line through the regular season (64 games) to averaging 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.9 assists a game on 38.4% shooting from the three through 14 games of this year’s playoffs. The “Dubs” are now 11-3 with a 3-0 game lead over the Dallas Mavericks as of this afternoon.

A few remarkable stats to run by you:

– Steph Curry has scored 30 or more in 7 of his last 8 playoff games. Only time he didn’t was when he sat out an entire 4th quarter. (Via FactNBAMuse)

  • Since 2015, Steph Curry and the Warriors have won more rings than playoff series lost (via GoldenStateMuse)
  • His stats in the WCF (3 games) of 28.0 points and 6.7 assists lead the team, with his 8.3 rebounds are a close second on the team.

Whether you’re a Warriors fan or not (I support them greatly but reside as a reminiscing OKC Thunder fan), we are watching a dynasty roll through almost an entire decade led by arguably one of the greatest shooters of all-time that is still in his prime and dropping jaws on a nightly basis when he puts his sneakers on. We are witnessing history and as a genuine basketball fan, the least you can do is appreciate it while it’s here.

The Dallas Mavericks fight for their lives tonight as they host Golden State, down 3-0 facing history that’s not on their side, as no team has ever come back from a three-zero deficit in the leagues history, sitting at 0-176 all-time in the scenario. Luka stans, I think your year is now ending. Go light on the liquor tonight.
